Howdy, and Happy Holidays!
There is no greater gift than hair growth (other than great returns on the stock market). I thought I’d share a couple of tricks I’ve acquired over time that helps me with hair growth. It may not seem like much, but it works if you are consistent and you are genetically able to grow more hair.
There are some men who genetically limited to growing hair, but I do believe in miracles so if you’re reading this and you fall into that category I suggest you look into PRP — certain doctors and plastic surgeons offer it, but be sure to go to a well priced one.
Hair mask
Mix 1 Banana, 1 Avocado, and 1 Tbsp Manila honey or Honey mix together and leave it in the hair for 15 min or more and then rinse out. You can do this by starting with 1x month. Banana is rich in biotin!
Start taking Biotin 10,000 Mcg daily.
Hair Cowash - wash every 2-3 days (Look up cowashing hair).
Daily massage 2x day: Mix Jamaican black castor oil, Peppermint essential oil, Rosemary water (I just boil rosemary leaves and then dip my hair in it), Jojoba oil, Coconut oil. Massage with head upside down.
1x week: Apple cider vinegar 1 tbsp mixed with 16 Oz water rinse: use after shampoo and conditioning your hair instructions below
Step 1: Shampoo and conditioner normal
Step 2: Dry hair well
Step 3: Stay in the shower, and dip hair in ACV for 15 seconds then slowly rinse ACV all over scalp and hair
Step 4: Do NOT rinse after the ACV, the ACV is the rinse.
Step 5: Dry Hair
Other ingredients to experiment with: Tea tree oil, Neem comb, Amla, Aritha, Brahmi, Shikakai and Neem Leaf
Hair Oil
Boil All Below. Strain it. Put in applicator bottle. Apply and let it sit for few hrs or overnight then wash and condition hair.
BOIL: Fenugreek, Black Cumin Seeds, Amla, Curry leaves, Hibiscus, Tulsi Leaves, Cloves, ALoe Vera Plant, Avocado Oil or Coconut Oil, Rosemary Oil.
Once you make this oil, pour the entire contents in a glass jar and leave it for at least 3-4 weeks for its full potency. In India they cook the ingredients in coconut oil and leave it in the heat of the sun for another 3-4 weeks then strain the oil and use it. Don’t discard the herbs, squeeze all the oil out and then grind these herbs to a fine paste and refrigerate. You can add it to hair masks.
Aloe Vera Oil
Cut the Aloe plant leaves into big chunks, and clean properly (I will make a video on this):
⁃ Cut the sharp edges and the ends off
⁃ Cut into big chunks
⁃ Wipe the ends of the aloe, yellow should come off of it and soak it for 2 hours or overnight
⁃ Mix olive or jojoba oil with aloe chunks, then blend
⁃ Bring it to a boil, add rosemary leaves, and peppermint oil, can add some coconut oil sometimes too
⁃ Strain it into jar then put in applicator bottle
Aloe Vera Hair Gel
⁃ Cut and clean the aloe vera plant very well (look up how to clean the aloe vera plant well. The yellow in the aloe can be toxic. Clean well).
⁃ Scape out all the gel from the aloe using a spoon
⁃ Shampoo hair, then apply gel all over hair in shower. Let it sit for 15 minutes and put hair cap on
⁃ Wash off then apply conditioner or hair mask (hair mask by shea moisture): SheaMoisture Intensive Hydration Hair Masque Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil For Dry, Damaged Hair Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment
Hair Wash Recipe
1 cup of chick pea flour
1 cup of mung bean flour
1 cup of Shikakai powder or half cup of shikakai and half cup of Reetha (soapnut) powder
Shikakai is soapbean easily found in Indian stores.
Mix these powders well and store in an airtight container. For hairwash depending on how long your hair is take about a tablespoon of this mix add some tepid water to this to make a slurry. Use this as shampoo to wash your hair. this works as a mild shampoo. It cleans, and does not strip your scalp of its natural oils. Over a few months of using this you may see a good improvement in your hair growth.
