Squat Wedges for Squatting

Exercises for Knee Pain

Why consider getting squat wedges?

There’s more to heel-elevated squatting than you might think, and one of the main benefits is the emphasis it places on your quads…and glutes if you use a safety squat bar!

The deeper you squat, the more difficult it may be to keep the tension on the right muscles. If you want to avoid putting the emphasis on the low back and quads (which is often what a lot of people do) then you may want to focus on troubleshooting with different methods that keep your glutes and quads activated rather than your low back and quads. However, the deeper you go, the harder it is to keep these muscles under balanced tension.

Heel elevated squats = Use if have butt wink

Squat wedges may allow you to squat “safer” without a butt wink or putting too much pressure on the low back.

So how do you use the wedges? Simple.

I would suggest getting individual wedges that can be moved and customizable to your liking.

The individuals wedges also allow you to practice pistol squats, and or one legged exercises, too!

Here is a link to the ones I use in the video!
