When picking food to lose weight with you want to pick foods that have high volume and tricks your mind into thinking you’re eating a lot. High in volume foods will make you feel more full than low volume foods.
High volume foods:
- Eggs
- Berries
- Low calorie spaghetti
- Zuchinni spaghetti
- Rice cakes
- Celery
- Spinach
- Oats
- Cottage cheese
Low volume foods:
- Peanut butter
- Nuts
- Beans
- White rice
- Butters
- Oils
- Bananas, Mangos, Dried fruit, Pears, Melons
- Juices (unless fortified)
Meal #1: Oats and Eggs
Cook up a good amount of egg whites and 1-5 whole eggs, mix with salt and pepper. If you use oil to cook the eggs in the pan make sure to measure out the oil. Cook up some oatmeal, after measuring of course, and mix it with some stevia, salt, and either 1. Honey or 2. Sugar Free syrup. If you drink water in between each bite with this meal you’ll get fuller a lot faster.
The fiber in the oatmeal mixed with the water sips will ensure you are full after eating.
Meal #2: High Fiber Bread (Ezekiel Bread) + a Protein Source
Different health stores now sell a variety of minimal ingredient and high fiber breads that are worth incorporating. If you have some sort of digestive limitation and can’t eat bread then you can opt in for a rice cake instead and choose the have the meal with some berries. Typically if you can find a bread with as little ingredients and fillers as possible and that each slice of bread contains at least 3 grams of fiber in each slice then you’ll be good to go! I have found that a low calorie fish such as tilapia, cod, or even tuna will go a long way. I prefer salmon over these 3 fish, but either one works.
Meal #3: Rice Cakes with Cheese or Celery with Peanut butter + Berries
This meal is not super high in protein unless you use a high protein cheese product, but it’s a great mid day snack to have you want something filling and tasty. Celery and Peanut Butter is one of my favorites because the celery is rich in vitamin K, vitamin A, and vitamin C. Eat the celery with some water and you will always feel full! Not to mention the water content in celery is super high. Berries also are high volume foods which means you can eat a lot of them and it won’t be much calories in exchange, which is a good thing if you are watching your calorie intake!
Those are 3 of my simple meals you can look into trying, and eat more of. The list at the top of this page has to be the reference you ought to look more into when trying to reach a physique goal. Not all foods – even the healthy ones – are created equal. Just because something is healthy does not mean It won’t make you gain weight. It’s about energy (calorie) intake. The more calories you consume and the less you expend, the higher you chance of gaining.
